Cancer/Nutrition: What’s the Link?

A free presentation will cover the cancer/nutrition connection for breast cancer survivors on Tuesday evening in Lake Success.

Diet and lifestyle changes may prevent one in three cancers, according to the American Institute of Cancer Research. Diet may not the definitive solution for cancer prevention, but it’s important for the breast cancer survivor to focus on how to maximize health and equip the body with what it needs for wellness.

Let’s consider the cancer/nutrition link during tomorrow evening’s free Bridge to Survivorship session. The series is for breast cancer survivors who have finished treatment and seek information and support to help on their new journey.

Tuesday evening, I will present information on:

  • the current recommendations for cancer prevention;
  • the science behind the recommendations and the reasons for them; and
  • how to translate the science into daily life.

Please email to preregister for a lively discussion and exchange of ideas tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at the Monter Cancer Center at 450 Lakeville Road in Lake Success.

The North Shore-LIJ Cancer Institute offers many support group meetings for cancer patients, cancer survivors and their loved ones.
